about
Urd poses the question: "How does one deal with the reality that one day, life is going to end?"
It is a song inspired by childhood-born feelings, while at the same time drawing inspiration from Norse mythology. In the old Norse way of thinking, many people believed in what today we call "destiny". The idea that what happens in life is pre-determined and that is the end of it.
Urd, in conclusion, is the combination of the old and the new. It plays with the idea that no matter what our beliefs are, no matter the age and no matter the culture, there is one thing which remains certain, unchanging; the fact that we are going to die. It is something that has been true for our ancestors, is true for us today and will remain true for the generations to come. Stoic philosophers and thinkers, for example, have done a fine job asking the question: "Why oppose something so natural?", but to some of us, this is clearly easier said than practiced.
lyrics
Féi ráða vill fyrða hverr æ til ins eina dags;
